The Daily Mississippian is run entirely by students at the University of Mississippi who put in many hours to produce an interesting, factual account of the happenings both on campus and affecting it. These are those students:
Editor-in-Chief: Clara Turnage

Clara Turnage is a senior journalism major from New Hebron and the 2016-2017 editor-in-chief. Clara has been working with The DM since she was a freshman as a reporter and editor. She likes books, coffee and doughnuts.
Managing Editor: Lana Ferguson

Lana Ferguson is a junior journalism major from Mechanicsville, Virginia, and the 2016-2017 managing editor. Lana has been working at The DM as a reporter and editor since her freshman year. She loves all things coffee, adventure and sarcasm.
Copy Chief: Maggie Martin

Maggie Martin is a junior journalism major from St. Louis and the 2016-2017 copy chief. Maggie has been at The DM as a copy editor since her sophomore year. She loves naps, Pinterest and baby animals.

Lyndy Berryhill is a senior journalism major from Brookhaven and a 2016-2017 city editor. Lyndy has been working at The DM as an editor since her junior year. She really likes breakfast food, British films and her shelter dog Theo.
Slade Rand is a sophomore integrated marketing communications major from New Orleans and the 2016-2017 assistant news editor. Slade has been working at The DM as a reporter since his freshman year. His favorite flavor of Ben & Jerry’s is either Phish Food or Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. “Half Baked is good, but it’s got too much big stuff,” Rand said.

Patrick Waters is a sophomore accounting major from St. Louis and the 2016-2017 opinion editor. Patrick has been working at The DM as an opinion columnist since his freshman year. His hobbies and interests include golf, politics and Ole Miss football.
Lifestyles Editors: Zoe McDonald and McKenna Wierman
The lifestyles editors handle the coverage of events and happenings on campus and in the Oxford community relating to the arts, food and recipes, fashion and video games, as well as music, movie and book reviews, and they manage a staff of writers. They can be reached by email at email@example.com.
Zoe McDonald is a senior journalism major from Flowood and a 2016-2017 co-lifestyles editor. This is her second year working with McKenna in the lifestyles section. She enjoys a living number of different lifestyles, but particularly those that include good music and food.
McKenna Wierman is a senior journalism major from Dallas and a 2016-2017 co-lifestyles editor. McKenna has been working at The DM as a writer since her freshman year and as an editor since her sophomore year. She once played on Barbara Streisand’s piano.

Brian Scott is a senior marketing major from Jackson. This is Brian Scott’s third year working in the sports section at The DM. Despite the fact that he writes about sports, he claims to be a terrible athlete.

Cameron Brooks is a sophomore IMC major from Houston and a 2016-2017 co-photography editor. Cameron has been working at The DM as a photographer and editor since his freshman year. He enjoys all things Texas and Ole Miss.
Ariel is a junior journalism major from Hattiesburg and the 2016-2017 co-photography editor. Ariel has been working at The DM as a photographer since her freshman year and as an editor since her sophomore year. She loves chocolate, African culture and puppies.

Hayden Benge is a sophomore IMC major from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a 2016-2017 designer. Hayden has been working at The DM as a designer since her freshman year. She’s a die-hard Oklahoma City Thunder fan.
Marisa Morrissette is junior IMC major from Oxford and a 2016-2017 designer. This is Marisa’s first year working with The DM. She loves to knit.
Ethel Mwedziwendira is a junior journalism major from McKinney, Texas, and a 2016-2017 designer. Ethel has been working at The DM as a designer since her sophomore year. Some of Ethel’s favorite things are Tex-Mex and Beyoncé.
Senior Cartoonist/Illustrator: Jake Thrasher
The cartoonist/illustrator creates daily cartoons for the opinion page and various illustrations for visuals throughout the rest of the newspaper.
Jake Thrasher is a junior biochemistry major from Birmingham, Alabama, and the 2016-2017 cartoonist/illustrator. Jake has been working at The DM as a cartoonist/illustrator since his sophomore year. He enjoys creating art and reading. He is a kitten enthusiast.
