Both Ole Miss Tennis teams concluded their regular seasons this weekend. The men’s team went 2-1 in three ranked matchups from April 4-12 to wrap up SEC play. No. 4 singles athlete Vlado Jankanj went undefeated.
The women’s team played five matches from April 4-11, three of which were conference matches; Beatrice Stagno helped lead the Rebels to a 4-1 team record over this span.
Men
In the match against No. 48 Tennessee on Saturday, April 4, Jankanj defeated Shion Itsusaki 6-3, 6-3. Ole Miss also won the match 4-0.

On Friday, April 10, the men’s team welcomed No. 19 Auburn to Oxford and suffered a 4-3 loss. Jankanj accounted for one of the wins thanks to his 6-3, 6-3 victory over Alan Bojarski.
Two days later, the Ole Miss faced No. 22 Kentucky. The Rebels won 4-3. Jankanj defeated Kentucky’s Charlelie Cosnet 6-0, 6-4.
Women
Ole Miss defeated No. 44 Alabama 4-0 on Saturday, April 4. During the match, Stagno defeated Mary Sidelnyk 6-3, 6-1. Stagno and her doubles partner Brooklyn Olson also defeated the Crimson Tide duo of Sidelnyk and Amina Salibayeva 6-3, securing the doubles point for the Rebels.
On Tuesday, April 7, the Rebels defeated both Mississippi Valley State and Memphis. In Stagno’s singles match against Memphis, she beat Tori Carter 6-0, 6-0.
After a 4-1 loss against No. 19 Tennessee on Thursday, April 9, the Rebels bounced back in their match against Kentucky on Saturday, April 11, winning 4-0. Stagno defeated Ellie Myers 6-2, 6-1.
What’s next?
Both the men’s and women’s teams will compete in their respective SEC Tournaments on April 15-19. The men will play in College Station, Texas, and the women will compete in Norman, Okla.
