Taylor VancebyTaylor Vance
November 6, 2018 - Updated on March 25, 2021
Reading Time: 2 mins read

Mississippi voters head to the polls today to vote on a pair of historic Senate races, their respective House races and local judicial races.

The Daily Mississippian interviewed all five major Senate candidates ahead of the election. Read our profiles of the candidates below to familiarize yourself with what issues and ideas they’re campaigning on.

State Rep. David Baria and incumbent U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker are competing for the regularly scheduled election.

Former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike Espy, incumbent U.S. Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith and state Sen. Chris McDaniel will face off in the special election.

A sample ballot of Lafayette County General Elections is available online here.

Read The Daily Mississippian’s election analysis explaining what the results on Tuesday mean for Mississippi.

Use the polling place locator on the Mississippi Secretary of State’s website to find out where to vote.
