Ole Miss women’s basketball signs No. 9 recruiting class in the nation

With a 2-0 start to the season, coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin and the Ole Miss women’s basketball team received more good news on Wednesday, national signing day.

Coach Yo has the program’s trajectory trending upward on the recruitment trail, signing the No. 9 2020 class in the nation and the best in the conference. This class puts the Rebels among perennial powerhouses like Notre Dame, Oregon, Baylor and University of Connecticut.

“It is my hope that this class shows the type of talent we’d like to bring here to Ole Miss for years to come,” Coach Yo said. “What excites me the most is not the talent that these ladies clearly have but, more importantly, the type of people that will be representing Ole Miss here in Oxford and nationally.”

The Rebels signed two five-star ESPNW top-50 prospects, Jacorriah Bracey and Madison Scott, and two three-stars, Snudda Collins and Caitlin McGee.

Bracey was the first verbal commitment in the class. The five-star from Drew is the top-ranked prospect in the state and the No. 11 guard. She is a combo-guard capable of taking over any game, averaging 30.7 points and six assists during her high school career.

“JB can score the ball from all three levels,” Coach Yo said. “She’s a coach’s kid, so she understands the expectations from a coach and the demands that come with playing under pressure.”

Scott is another five-star from Indian Head, Maryland. She is the No. 13 overall recruit in the nation. The 6-foot-1 wing plays both guard and forward for the Rebels.

Collins, a Brookhaven native, will join the two five-stars in Oxford next year. The 6-foot-1 forward is the No. 4 ranked recruit in Mississippi and the No. 29 national prospect.

“Snudda is a diamond in the rough. I think she is the best-kept secret in our signing class, and she is Mississippi-made, so I’m sure that will excite people in the state,” Coach Yo said. “It was important to us as a staff to retain the best talent in the state, and Snudda is definitely one of them.”

Rounding out the top-10 class is three-star forward McGee out of Jacksonville, Florida. McGee averages 18 points, 12.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks in her high school career.

These four recruits will help Coach Yo and her staff change the tide of a program that hasn’t seen a winning season since 2016.

“My staff has worked extremely hard to help put this class together, and I’m truly excited about it,” Coach Yo said. “We’ve got size, length, athleticism, skill and talent that will help us progress toward the goal of becoming a prominent program in the SEC.”
