Ole Miss Chancellor Glenn Boyce has released the official list of members of the search committee tasked with selecting a new vice chancellor for intercollegiate athletics.
The committee will be chaired by Ole Miss alumnus Mike Glenn, who served as co-chair for the search in 2012. Members of the committe include David Dellucci, Peggie Gillom-Granderson, Jesse Mitchell, David Morris, Ron Rychlak and Wesley Walls.
“On behalf of the search committee, we are honored to be involved in this process designed to identify the best person to serve the university in this key leadership role,” chair Mike Glenn said. “We have been charged by Chancellor Boyce to find someone with integrity, proven leadership in athletics, excellent management and interpersonal skills as well as someone who can be the public face of the university’s athletics department.”
Archie Manning will serve as an advisor for the committee and Chancellor Boyce.
There is still no specific timetable for the search and committee members will recommend a candidate to Boyce with the help of a search firm.
“I have spoken to each of the search committee members, and they are ready to get to work in finding the right person to lead Ole Miss Athletics,” Boyce said in the statement. “The entire committee is committed to ensuring that we have the strongest pool of candidates.”
Ole Miss has been without an athletics director since Ross Bjork left to take the same position at Texas A&M in late May. Since then, Deputy A.D. for Development Keith Carter has assumed the role or interim athletics director.
