Traylan Williams and Lucy Huthnance were crowned Homecoming King and Queen in the 2026 University of Mississippi Homecoming Election. Both candidates ran unopposed.

Julia Case was elected Miss Ole Miss. Jack Turrentine and Luke Newsom will enter into a runoff election for Mr. Ole Miss.

The runoff election will take place Thursday, Oct. 8 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the ForUM.

Williams’ campaign focused on mental health awareness, and his slogan was “Tray’s the Way.”

“This moment is so surreal. It means so much to actually win this and to represent the university,” Williams said.

Huthnance campaigned on giving back to the university and sharing her Christian faith with the student body. Her slogan was “Home is where the heart is” with “I Love Lucy” as her tagline.

“It’s been so much fun just to love this place out loud. I’ve loved Ole Miss for so long, and this is such a sweet celebration of the love that I have for the university,” Huthnance said.

Julia Case, newly elected Miss Ole Miss, campaigned using the slogan “With Joy” and Doors of Hope Transition Ministries as her philanthropy

“It has been the most surreal amount of peace due to the amount of support I received,” Case said. “It’s such a testament to the Ole Miss community and how kind everyone truly is, and I’m extremely excited.”

Luke Newsom and Jack Turrentine will enter into the Mr. Ole Miss runoff election. Leyton Turk, the third Mr. Ole Miss candidate, will not advance to the runoff.

The Homecoming Maids were also announced.

At the Lyceum, Shane Trosclair was named the freshman maid.

“I just want to say thank you to the freshman class for voting for me,” Trosclair said. “It means the world to me, and I’m so thankful that I get to represent us.”

Grace Brown was named the sophomore maid.

“I’m really overwhelmed and shocked, but it was such a great experience and my friends really helped me pull it off,” Brown said.

“Time felt like it slowed down. I felt the honor more in the process than in the result,” Bumgarner said. “Just getting to meet people across campus and now represent the class of 2028 has given me so much.”

Sophie Pitts was awarded senior maid.

“It’s been a really fun two-and-a-half weeks,”  Pitts said. “My campaign was built around the memories we built over the four years, and I feel like that spoke to a lot of seniors.”

The Associated Student Body announced in a statement on Instagram that the 2026 campus favorites will be announced on Thursday due to pending appeals.

“To be clear, voting for (campus favorites) has concluded and the vote totals are final,” the statement said. “The campaign period is also officially over, and no additional campaigning may take place. This postponement applies only to the announcement of the results while the pending appeals process is completed.”

The election results were originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Lyceum but were postponed until 9 p.m. The delay was due to ongoing hearings that began today at 12 p.m.

Associated Study Body Attorney General Lucy Allen gave a statement regarding the election delay and campus favorite difficulties, particularly hearings by the elections review board.

“We had a lot of administrative hearings today, and so we were all in the office all day working through it,” Allen said.
