No. 25 Ole Miss Baseball defeated No. 22 Southern Mississippi, 10-3, in a neutral site matchup in Pearl, Miss., on Tuesday, April 14.
JP Robertson was the starting pitcher for Ole Miss. Robertson had five strikeouts in three innings and gave up three hits.
The runs started flowing for the Rebels in the third inning. Owen Paino hit a double, third Judd Utermark singled and Tristan Bissetta drove in Paino with a single. Will Furniss then singled up the middle to score Utermark, putting the Rebels ahead, 2-0. Bissetta advanced to third on the hit.
Outfielder Hayden Federico drew a walk, and Cannon Goldin hit a 2-run single to score Bissetta and Furniss. Dom Decker hit a sacrifice fly to score Federico, extending the Rebels’ lead to 5-0.
Landon Koenig took over for Robertson in the fourth. Over two innings pitched, he gave up one hit, struck out three batters and earned the win.
In the bottom of the fourth, Bissetta continued his hot streak with his ninth home run of the season.

Leo Odom took the mound for the Rebels in the sixth inning. He struck out a pair of batters but gave up a home run in his one inning pitched.
In the sixth, Decker reached second on an error. Utermark notched an infield single to score Decker; Bissetta then doubled to left field, advancing Utermark to third. Daniel Pacella walked to load the bases, and Furniss cleared the bases with a double down the right field line.
Owen Hancock replaced Odom in the seventh. He gave up two hits, two runs and a walk. Owen Kelly came in for relief and finished the inning.
Terry Hayes Jr. pitched in the eighth inning. Landon Waters closed out the game on the mound. Southern Miss went three up, three down at the plate, and the Rebels won, 10-3.
What’s next?
The Rebels (27-11, 8-7 SEC) will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., this weekend to face Tennessee (25-12, 7-8 SEC). Game one is on Friday, April 17, at 5:30 p.m. SEC Network+ will broadcast the game.
