What are Ole Miss Baseball’s biggest matchups of the 2027 season?

Between rivalry weekends and facing reigning national champions, there are several heavy-hitting weekends ahead for Rebel baseball in the spring..

Ole Miss Baseball has released its 2027 schedule, featuring several weekends that Rebel fans should have circled on their calendars. From an early-season meeting with UCLA to hosting the reigning national champions at Swayze Field, the Rebels will have numerous opportunities to prove themselves against some of the nation’s top programs.

One of the most interesting nonconference games will take place on March 7, when Ole Miss will face UCLA at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas — the home of the Texas Rangers. The game will be part of the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series, during which the Rebels will also face Penn State and Dallas Baptist.

Although the meeting against UCLA will be just one game rather than a full weekend series, it will give Ole Miss an early opportunity to compete against a nationally recognized program before SEC play begins. The Bruins were the No. 1 team in the country for the entire 2026 regular season.

Then, Ole Miss will open conference play at home against Arkansas on March 19-21.

The Razorbacks took the series from Ole Miss last year in Fayetteville, Ark., 2-1, before ending their season early in the postseason. After a superior postseason, and in front of the home crowd, the Rebels will look to shift the series the other way.

Just two weeks later, the Rebels will travel to Starkville, Miss., to face Mississippi State April 2-4. There are few games on the schedule that carry the same significance as this series.

Last season, Mississippi State swept Ole Miss 4-0 across all matchups; however, the Bulldogs had to watch at home while the Rebels played in Omaha.

Obviously, the rivalry extends far beyond baseball and would be significant even when both schools are having down years. Still, with both programs coming off great seasons in 2026 — the Bulldogs had a new coach and a super regional appearance — stakes have risen.

Another major road test will come April 16-18, when the Rebels travel to Baton Rouge, La., to face LSU. Although LSU struggled during the 2026 season (going 9-21 in the SEC and missing the NCAA Tournament), the Tigers remain one of the most renowned programs in college baseball.

Alex Box Stadium is one of the sport’s most well-known environments, making a road series in Baton Rouge a difficult assignment regardless of LSU’s previous season.

The biggest home series of the season might be saved for last. On May 14-16, Ole Miss will welcome Oklahoma to Oxford.

The Sooners enter the 2027 season as the reigning national champions after defeating North Carolina in the 2026 Men’s College World Series finals. Oklahoma’s championship was its third in program history and first since 1994.

Hosting the defending national champions at Swayze Field will be one of the highlights of Ole Miss’ regular-season schedule.

With the series taking place just one week before the end of the regular season, it could also carry significant weight in the SEC standings and postseason picture.

The Rebels will then travel to College Station, Texas, to close their regular season against Texas A&M.

Ole Miss will face plenty of competition throughout the spring, but the matchups against UCLA, Arkansas, Mississippi State, LSU and Oklahoma stand out.
