The Ole Miss Rifle team will open up its season in Murray, Ky., where they will play against the University of Akron on Saturday, Oct. 12 and Murray State on Sunday, Oct. 13.
The Rebels recorded just above .500 in the 2023-2024 season and finished the season 7-6 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
Despite their record, the Rebels were still able to qualify for the GARC and NCAA Championships, placing 3rd and 4th in the conference championship games and 7th in both NCAA Championships.
During the 2023-2024 season, Akron finished with a 6-12 record before the conference championships. Murray State went 5-4 in 2023-24.
Senior Katelyn Foust had impressive statistics from her previous years with the Rebels. Foust averaged a 1147.8 aggregate score with a career high of 578 in one game her freshman year.
Additionally, Ole Miss gained North Carolina State transfer Katie Tedeschi last season. Tedeschi had a season best 1,177 aggregate against Akron — very close to her career high of 1,179 at North Carolina State. Tedeschi also had a team-best of 582 Smallbore against Akron.
This season, the rifle team is set to switch from the Great American Rifle Conference to the Patriot Rifle Conference.
