The Daily Mississippian’s runoff election guide

Oxford voters head to the polls today to vote in a local Chancery Court judge runoff election and the U.S. Senate runoff election that has received national attention and has become surprisingly competitive.

The Daily Mississippian has interviewed both Senate candidates. Read our profiles of the candidates below to familiarize yourself with what issues and ideas they’re campaigning on.

Former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike Espy is challenging incumbent U.S. Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith

The two candidates participated in a debate on Nov. 20 where both candidates addressed their respective controversies and their different approaches to healthcare policy. Read our coverage of the debate here.
