The fall 2026 primary recruitment cycle ended with 2,207 women and 1,073 men accepting invitations to join University of Mississippi fraternities and sororities. Students and families celebrated across campus College Panhellenic Council bid day on Saturday, Aug. 22 and Interfraternity Council bid day on Sunday, Aug. 23.
Of the 2,302 women registered for recruitment, 2,207 received bids to join one of the 11 National Panhellenic Conference sororities, revealing a 96% placement rate.
New members opened bid cards at The Sandy and John Black Pavilion, then ran to their sorority houses on Rebel Drive and Sorority Row, which were blocked off from traffic. Thousands of active members and families stood outside their chapter houses to welcome the new members.
Throughout the primary recruitment process, potential new members (PNMs) participate in four rounds of recruitment beginning Aug. 13, learning about the philanthropic initiatives and sisterhood experiences of Panhellenic sororities on campus.

Fraternity bid day concluded on Sunday at The Sandy and John Black Pavilion following a presentation about safety and ethics. 1,300 men registered for Interfraternity Council primary recruitment this year and 1,073 received bids, resulting in an 83% placement rate.
Over 10,700 students were actively involved in a Greek life organization at the University of Mississippi in 2025. These students contributed over 55,000 hours of community service and raised $1.4 million for charitable causes.
Several chapters in the College Panhellenic Council and Interfraternity Council will participate in continuous open bidding at the start of the spring 2027 semester, providing an opportunity for students to join the Greek community outside of the fall primary recruitment process.
