The No. 5 seeded Ole Miss Women’s Basketball team cruised past No. 12 Gonzaga 81-66 on Friday, March 20 in the Round of 64 in Minneapolis.
The Lady Rebels jumped out to a quick lead, and were ahead by 15 going into the half. Ole Miss did more of the same throughout the second half, leading by as many as 33 points midway through the third quarter.

As a team, Ole Miss shot 42% from the field, 39% from 3-point range and 80% from the free-throw line. Latasha Lattimore led the Rebels in scoring with 15 points, followed by Cotie McMahon with 13.
Gonzaga shot 37% from the field, 45% from three-point range and 69% from the free-throw line.
Ole Miss’ fast start and enthusiasm out of the gate, with poor shooting from Gonzaga, was simply too much for the Bulldogs to handle.
The Lady Rebels were suffocating on defense. They racked up eight blocks, matching their season-high, forced 21 turnovers and grabbed 14 steals.
From start to finish, Ole Miss dominated Friday’s competition in every aspect of the game to start the 2026 NCAA Tournament off in terrific fashion.
What’s next?
The Rebels will await the winner of No. 13 Green Bay and No. 4 Minnesota for their opponent in the Round of 32, which is set for Sunday, March 22. A tip-off time has not been announced yet.
