Ole Miss forward Cotie McMahon has been the engine behind a top Rebel team and has been rewarded for her individual efforts with the SEC Newcomer of the Year award, First Team All-SEC honors and The Sporting News All-America Second Team. Additionally, she is a finalist for the Cheryl Miller award, which honors the top small forward in DI women’s basketball.
McMahon added these awards to her impressive individual trophy case, which already features All-Big Ten First Team honors in 2023 and 2024 and Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2023.

With her All-SEC honors, McMahon follows in the footsteps of two Rebel stars, Madison Scott and Marquesha Davis, who were both First Team All-SEC in 2024.
McMahon also is the first Rebel to win SEC Newcomer of the Year, mainly due to the award’s inaugural year being in 2025, which was won by Kentucky’s Georgia Amoore.
In 2025, she has reached season highs in points per game with 19.8 and assists per game with 2.9. Even more impressively, she has averaged 21 points in conference matchups.
Outside of the abnormal matchup against South Carolina where she scored two points, she has scored double-digit points in 29 out of 31 matchups this season, with 17 of those games with 20 or more points.
Following a win against Tennessee where McMahon scored 39 points, Ole Miss Women’s Basketball head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin commented on how impressive of a player she is, both individually and for the team.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anything like that, Cotie is a generational player,” McPhee-McCuin said. “Cotie wants to win. If she had 10 points and we won, she would be fine, but she’s good enough to have 39.”
With the regular season over, McMahon and the team are looking towards March Madness as the finale to cap off a record year.
