Ole Miss Football recruiting game excels under Golding

With early signing day around the corner, the Rebels currently rank No. 12 in recruiting.

Since 2021, Ole Miss Football bolsters a record of 57-16 with five postseason wins, as well as a program-record 13 wins and a CFP semifinal finish in 2025. Going forward, fans have much to look forward to, as talent will continue to enter the program for years to come. Head Coach Pete Golding and his staff have been very productive at attracting top-tier recruits.

The early signing window, when many recruits officially sign with teams, opens Dec. 2 and closes Dec. 4.

The 2027 Ole Miss Football recruiting class currently ranks No. 12 in the nation and seventh best in the SEC, with 12 four-star recruits and 11 three-star recruits currently planning on joining the Rebels.

This talented recruiting class is led by two defensive lineman ranked as the No. 1 and No. 3 prospects in Mississippi, respectively: Mitchell Turner from Louisville, Miss., and Ben’Jarvius Shumaker from Choctaw County, Miss.

Other notable recruits include Alvin Mosley, a wide receiver from Texas, Tupelo High School’s standout offensive lineman Antonio Berry and nationally ranked Baylor School’s signal-caller Keegan Croucher, who was a 2026 Elite 11 finalist. All three of these players are four-star recruits.

The 2028 Ole Miss Football recruiting class currently has four recruits committed: three four-star recruits and one three-star prospect. However, Golding is not done with these groups just yet.

In the two ranked matchups at home against SEC opponents this season, Ole Miss Football hosted 60 recruits in the college game day matchup against LSU and 18 recruits in the homecoming game matchup against Missouri.

Many of the recruits at these games were committed prospects for the 2027 and 2028 classes, and another handful were recruits being targeted for the 2028 cycle.

Against LSU, two huge flip targets for the 2027 class, Caden Moss, a four-star offensive lineman committed to Ohio State, and Tae Walden Jr., a four-star athlete committed to Oregon, were in town for the game.

Moss, a Jackson, Miss., native and member of the 2026 Clarion Ledger Dandy Dozen, lists Ole Miss as one of his top schools alongside LSU, Oregon, Kentucky and Ohio State.

Walden also has Ole Miss among his top five schools in a list that includes Georgia, LSU, Auburn and Oregon.

Alongside these two flip targets, two other uncommitted prospects in the 2027 class, defensive lineman Jeremiah Mark from Picayune Memorial High School and tight end Braxton Rein from Baylor School, were also in attendance.

For the contest against Missouri, 2027 four-star recruit Benny Easter Jr. traveled to Oxford. Easter, a Humble, Texas, wide receiver committed to Texas Tech, also visited Oxford in the summer. Alongside Texas Tech and Ole Miss, LSU, Alabama and Ohio State round out his top five schools.

Golding and his staff have been aggressively pursuing highly touted recruits — a tactic that has proven successful thus far. Fans can expect to see more prospects flip or commit to the Rebels in the near future.
