Ole Miss welcomed the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs for a makeup doubleheader game. The Lady Rebels secured a win in both games, with one victory ending in a thrilling 13 inning match. Here is how each game went for the Rebels:
Game one (won 7-3):
On a sunny Tuesday afternoon, Ole Miss played its first game against Louisiana Tech. The Lady Rebels kept the momentum from their preview weekend going by scoring two runs in the bottom of the first.
Ole Miss remained steady in the bottom of the third inning with a solo home run from first baseman Paige Smith. The Rebels continued to put more numbers up on the scoreboard with a RBI double from right fielder Annie Orman.
Louisiana Tech cut the deficit to two with two runs in the top of the fourth inning. Brianna Lopez was able to get all three outs when she took the mound in relief with the bases loaded.
The Rebels fired back with another home run from center fielder Jalia Lassiter, which put Ole Miss up 5-2.
The Rebels got into a jam with runners on first and second and nobody out, but they were able to escape the inning with no runs allowed.
Lexie Brady continued the home run rally for the Rebels with a two-run shot in the bottom of the sixth inning.
While the Bulldogs attempted to catch up, Ole Miss was able to hold Louisiana Tech back and took the first game of this doubleheader.
Game two (won 6-5):
Ole Miss took over once again in this game with another home run from Lassiter. The Rebels managed to sneak in a run off a walk, taking a 2-0 lead after the first inning.
After some scoreless frames, the Rebels struggled in the top of the fourth by giving up one too many runs, which caused them to fall behind for the first time in the doubleheader.
Ole Miss was able to find a rally and tie the game with a single from Smith. Louisiana Tech got out of the inning off of a double play.
The Rebels maintained the tie after seven innings, causing the game to go into extras. Ole Miss brought home a second win after 13 innings with a walk-off hit from pitcher Aynslie Furbush.

Ole Miss will travel to College Station, Texas on April 19-21 to take on the Texas A&M Aggies for a three-game series in conference play. The first pitch will be on Friday, April 19 at 6 p.m.
