Ole Miss Tennis has seen improved success this year in conference play. Both men’s and women’s teams have major wins. While both programs are still growing, Riley Crowder and Noah Schlagenhauf have been major contributors to their teams’ success in recent weeks.
Crowder, a freshman from Dothan, Ala., has excelled in her first season with the Rebels. Sitting at a 29-13 overall record, including singles and doubles, she has become a young star for the Lady Rebels.
Razorback singles athlete Arina Babenko defeated Crowder 6-3, 6-4 in her matchup against Ole Miss. Crowder’s doubles match was marked as unfinished.
She bounced back in the next SEC Matchup, and defeated Vanderbilt’s Erin Pearce 2-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-5).

Her winning performances continued in the match against Missouri when she took down Andrea Artimedi 6-3, 6-2 in the singles bracket.
In the doubles bracket, she and her partner Alice Soulie defeated Tiger pair, Korina Roso and Alex Ackman, 6-0.
The men’s star over the past few weeks has been Schlagenhauf who has won matches against every SEC opponent so far.
Schlagenhauf is a senior from Nuertingen, Germany, who has only recorded eight losses this year.
Against Florida, he defeated Kevin Edengren 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (12-10), which marked his eleventh straight dual singles win.
The Rebels lost to Florida 6-1, with Schlagenhauf’s win being the only victory. The men’s tennis team rebounded with a came back win against No. 14 South Carolina on the road.
Schlagenhauf took down Gabe Avram 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the Rebels’ 5-2 ranked victory over the Gamecocks.
Schlagenhauf’s success continued against Georgia, despite the team recording a loss at home.
He defeated Derrick Chen 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-1), and recorded one of two Rebel court wins that day.
What’s next?
The women’s team will host the No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies on Friday, March 27. The men’s team will travel to Starkville, Miss., to face the No. 6 Mississippi State Bulldogs that same day.
